This Cozy Ibiza Home was an abandoned building and an architect flipped it into a chic live-able room
Inside architect Jurjen Van Hulzen designed a house onto a distant mountain from the rugged north west of Ibiza, Spain. Even the 100 year old warehouse which formerly functioned as a workshop and storage space, was turned into a modern-day guest house and exhibit project for those designers.
The building was abandoned and needed no running water or electricity added to make the home habitable. The designers installed solar power panels for warm water, ground heating and electricity, which makes the home shinier and self sustainable. The designers maintained the conventional construction structure and emphasized that the character with for regional materials such as the cement flooring, chalk and mud plastered stone walls, and sabina beams made from timber which grow over the island.
Van Hulzen made the home into include a big open space onto the south side with perspectives all across the valley. The major space connects to the personal patio, creating an ample societal location. The location bleeds into the dining room, which comes with a built-in seat and also a skylight. The two bedrooms face the north side, keeping them shaded and cool. They discuss the freestanding bathroom, which includes operable windows that start to the fireplace and also the exterior.
